What scientific or medical breakthrough do you most want to happen in your lifetime?

This is hard for me. My family has a lot of Alzheimers in it, I have had cancer issues in the past, I have vision issues, etc. I don't know what to choose if I had to choose just one. The one thing that makes me the saddest though is pediatric cancers and pediatric leukemia. I get so mad and frustrated when I see innocent kids have to go through so much pain and suffering for no reason. So if there could be one scientific or medical breakthrough I would like them to find a painless cure for all pediatric cancers and leukemia.

When we had to go to CHOP (Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, world renowned for treating pediatric cancer) for Joshua's appendectomy, we saw SO MANY children who lived there during their treatments. It was absolutely heartbreaking. The whole place is so cheery and there's drawings and cards and decorations everywhere and the staff is so nice and the food is so good and kid-friendly, but the fact is....these kids are dying. Or at the very least...in pain a lot of times. I hated it and it made me so grateful that it was only Josh's appendix! So I would have to say I agree with you on this one. :(
